Thank God

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” Romans 3:23-24 NLT

I read this verse today on my YouVersion Bible app and was reminded how thankful I am for the forgiveness of my sin. How could a person not be thankful when you are freed from the penalty of sin.

This thankfulness breeds obedience or at least it should. I know we all occasionally struggle with sin in …

Creation or Evolution

To continue from last weeks post, using logic and plain old common sense…another great point to make with evolutionists are the astonishing odds that even a single protein could evolve from a rock is far fetched, to say the least.

Check out how Billy Crone describes this below.

Odds of Single Protein:

“Now let us journey even further in the land of common sense. It has been calculated that any event with a value of 1 in 10 to the 50th power will never occur by chance. If it did, it would be a miracle.”

“So, now that we know …

Pond Scum

“They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Researching for this blog has given me opportunities to review topics I haven’t studied in awhile or even at all. Like, did we really evolve from pond scum like Darwinism claims?

Back at UMKC, to study evolution I had to go to the campus library and try and figure out how to use the card catalog and the Dewey Decimal system to find books and articles, and …

Time On Our Hands

It has been inspiring to witness the space race between Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin. Their rockets flew 62 miles above planet earth and then made flawless landings all on autopilot!

They are both exciting accomplishments. They say the next step is a flight around the earth and then family vacations to the space station maybe even by the end of this decade! I’ll ask my wife to start a new line item in the family budget.

What a tremendous illustration of what a human being can do with big dreams, deep pockets and time on …

UFO Mania

I’m sure the title of this post caught your attention! The topic has definitely caught mine. And, so of course, I had to do some research and dig a little deeper into what in the world, or outer world, is up with our country’s military capturing radar evidence of these UFO’s or as they now call them UAP’s (Unidentified Ariel Phenomenon).

According to pastor and author Billy Crone, Ufology is a topic we need to be equipped around, because our world is enthralled with the topic.

He states more people in the US believe in UFO’s than they do in …

SAGE

I had lunch with a friend a few weeks ago. And before we left for lunch, we stopped and talked to a guy who heads up our local CBMC ministry. He told me about a new ministry they have been doing.

They ask a SAGE, a man who is successful, action oriented, God fearing and who is an executive or entrepreneur to speak to a group of young professionals.

During the talk the guest is asked to give his testimony, then give his bio, talk about his career then list the five things he would tell himself 30 years ago!…

Surrender

I have wanted to interview different people for this blog. And sure enough, I was having a great conversation with two good friends about family and kiddo issues and the topic of surrender came up.

My life long best friend and his wife, Mellisa are who God led me to interview first.

Matt and Mellissa are a dynamic couple who love God and are fully devoted to walking deeply in the four streams.

During one of our conversations several weeks ago, Melissa made the comment, “that she surrendered to God.”

Her comment for some reason struck me and I sensed …

Peace Amidst Chaos

Knowing this, I am convinced that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith.” Philippians 1:25 NLT

I was reading Philippians today and God impressed this verse on my heart. Paul is speaking to the Philippian church. And when I read the above verse I wondered why Paul wrote the letter.

He wrote the letter for four main reasons.

1. Paul wanted to thank the Philippians for supporting him.

2. The Philippians heard Epaphroditus was very sick.

3. Paul wanted to maintain his relationship with the …

God Has Our Backs

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7 ESV

I was listening to some political pundits today driving in my car, and one of them said they didn’t have much need for God and didn’t think much about the after life. It’s the first time I’ve heard somebody actually admit that on air. It sounded and just felt odd to me.

It made me think about my walk with God and the many times He has shown up over the years.

God reveals His presence many ways, …

Rediscovery

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 NIV

“But it will take God’s help for us to find and live the life we were created to live.” Gary Barkelow

Adventure, desire, calling, discovering the life we were created to live.

What do these words well up in your heart?

I have a good buddy I mentioned a few posts ago, who just yesterday moved to Wyoming! They arrived last night.

The other day we were dreaming about some adventures to go on together and he asked me what my passions were. I said God, my …
